Support Our Mission: Join the Keepers
of the Midway
Bushkill Park has survived floods, neglect, and changing times because people refused to let it die. Now, we're inviting you to be part of that legacy.
A Shared Mission of Restoration & Care
Every ticket sold, every hour volunteered, and every contribution shared serves a dual purpose: it stabilizes the physical heart of a Pennsylvania icon. It expands access to therapy and inclusive ministerial services through our partners at Positive Peer Mentoring (PPM) and Inclusive Marriage Moments (IMM).
When you stand with Bushkill Park, you aren't just preserving wood and metal. You are protecting a living sanctuary where:
-
A 93-year-old guest can descend the same wooden slide he rode at age 5.
-
A foster teen from the Children's Home of Easton can learn job skills and discover a sense of belonging.
-
A retiree like Lois can find quiet purpose sweeping the midway on Saturday mornings.
-
A child can fall in love with the same grounds their grandparents did decades ago.
Where Your Support Goes
Thanks to the tireless work of John and Sue Klein, local volunteers, and friends who refused to give up, the park has achieved remarkable milestones: restoring Hilarity Hall, returning the 1928 C.W. Parker Carousel, and reopening the skating rink.
As we look toward our 125th Anniversary (1902–2027) and host events like Music in the Park and FurFest at the Grove, our focus turns to three vital efforts:
-
🏛️ The Whip Building: Stabilizing and restoring one of the last surviving examples of a classic 1920s amusement ride.
-
🎠 The Carousel Banquet Hall: Revitalizing this historic space into an inclusive sanctuary where every couple can begin their legacy.
-
🌊 Flood & Resiliency Engineering: Funding John Klein’s ingenious adaptations — quick-disconnect motors, sealed electrical vaults, and smart landscaping — so the park can outrun the water and heal faster every time the creek rises.
Ways to Walk the Midway With Us
You don't have to be a major corporation to keep the history alive. There are many ways to lend a hand:
-
Attend the Festival: Join us September 24–26, 2027. Your ticket directly funds the ongoing restoration work. (Registration opens soon!)
-
Volunteer Your Time: Step up as a greeter, fursuit handler, or support crew member. Volunteers receive 50% off convention passes, a meal voucher at Mom & Pop’s Café, and the deep satisfaction of keeping history alive. (Applications close August 1, 2027).
-
Contribute In-Kind Expertise: If you are a licensed tradesperson (electrician, mason, carpenter) or can help with materials, lumber, or park care, we deeply welcome in-kind partnerships that save the park thousands in repair costs.
-
Community & Business Partnerships: For local shops, families, or businesses wishing to sponsor our 125th-anniversary restoration efforts, we offer meaningful ways to display your support on-site and online. (To ensure 100% of contributions directly fund restoration without digital processing fees, community contributions are coordinated directly via check or money order. A Note on Transparency
We have not yet received any major corporate or sponsorship funding. Every shingled roof, every painted carousel horse, and every cleared path has been powered by the Kleins' relentless labor, a small circle of devoted volunteers, and the quiet generosity of people who care. Every contribution — no matter how small — makes a tangible, immediate difference.
The Promise of the Midway
Bushkill Park will flood again. The creek will inevitably return to test the midway's timber. But as the mud recedes, a more powerful force takes its place: the sight of John and Sue, volunteers like Lois, and the steady hands of the next generation arriving at dawn to sweep, repair, and rebuild.
By fiercely guarding these rituals — the clatter of the carousel, the echo of laughter in Hilarity Hall, and the simple joy of a shared milkshake — we do more than maintain a park; we offer a sanctuary where time slows down.
We are the keepers of a century-old promise. And with your help, we're just getting started on the memories yet to come.
