📸 BUSHKILL PARK & FURFEST 2027: Photo & Costumed Performer Safety Guide

Capture the Magic! Free Photos with Our Costumed Performers

Celebrating 125 Years of Joy at Historic Bushkill Park & Grove (1902–2027)

🎪 WELCOME TO THE MIDWAY!

Today, our historic midway is filled with colorful, costumed performers, furry characters, and mascots who are volunteering their time to help us "Make Memories" and raise funds to restore historic Bushkill Park & Grove!

We are thrilled to have them here, and we encourage all festival guests, local families, and fans to take UNLIMITED, FREE PHOTOS with our costumed entertainers throughout the park grounds!

CRITICAL SAFETY RULE FOR PARENTS & GUARDIANS

🛑 PLEASE DO NOT HAND YOUR CHILD TO A

MASCOT OR FURSUITER

For the safety of your little ones and our volunteer performers, our costumed entertainers are strictly prohibited from lifting, holding, or carrying children or guests.

Why this rule exists: Costumes and fursuits feature heavy padding, oversized paws, extra weight, and significantly limited peripheral vision. To prevent accidental slips, trips, or falls, our mascots must keep their feet firmly planted on the ground and their arms completely free.

"This includes the Headless Lounge 'No Eyes' rule — absolutely no photos of performers while their head is off."

✨ WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE:

  • ✋ High-Fives & Fist Bumps!

  • 👋 Waving, silly dances, and fun poses!

  • 📸 Standing side-by-side for the perfect family photo!

💡 PRO-TIPS FOR GREAT PHOTOS WITH COSTUMED ENTERTAINERS

  1. Approach From the Front: Performers have limited vision inside character heads (similar to looking through a small straw). Always approach from the front so they know you are there!

  2. Give a Little Wave: A quick wave or thumbs-up lets the performer know you’d like a picture.

  3. Respect Resting Performers: If a costumed performer is in the Headless Lounge Tent, walking toward a designated break area, or cooling off with their head off, please allow them privacy to rest and hydrate without taking photos.
