The Headless Lounge at the White Tent

Your Private Sanctuary on the Midway

Operating an outdoor festival in the Pennsylvania humidity is a feat of endurance, especially for our fursuiters and performers. The Headless Lounge, located at the White Tent near the main gate, is a dedicated, private sanctuary designed for the health, safety, and comfort of our costumed ambassadors.

What is the Headless Lounge?

The Headless Lounge is a private, shaded environment where fursuiters can safely remove their heads, cool down, and rehydrate away from the public eye.

Because we operate in a public, family-friendly park, it is vital that our performers have a space to "break character" and tend to their physical needs in private.

Who Can Use the Lounge?

Access is strictly controlled to ensure the comfort and privacy of our performers.

  • Permitted: Current FurFest Badge Holders (18+) who are currently in suit or are actively acting as a designated "Hero Handler" for a suiter.

  • NOT Permitted: General public park guests, minors, or FurFest attendees who are not currently suiting or handling.

What the Lounge IS For:

  • Safe De-suiting: Removing heads, paws, and parts to allow the body to regulate temperature.

  • Hydration: Access to the Park Water Vouchers (donated by our incredible community!).

  • Cooling Down: We provide a shaded environment with high-powered fans (power permitting) to move air and lower core temperatures.

  • Minor Suit Care: A place to give your suit a quick brush or a spray of disinfectant between appearances.

  • Emergency Assistance: Our Hero Handlers are stationed here to assist with zippers, hydration, or medical alerts.

What the Lounge is NOT For:

  • General Socializing: Space is limited. Please use Pavilion 4 or Mom & Pop’s Café for extended social gatherings so the lounge remains available for those needing to cool down.

  • Long-Term Storage: You may leave your bins/totes here only while you are actively suiting. All gear must be cleared out at the end of each day. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • Eating Meals: To maintain hygiene and suit safety, please eat your meals at the designated picnic areas or Mom & Pop’s Café.

  • Sleeping: The lounge is a high-traffic safety zone, not a nap area.

  • Outside Beverages: Per park rules, no outside water or drinks are permitted. Please use the provided Park Water Vouchers for venue-approved hydration.

Etiquette & Hygiene

  • The "No Eyes" Rule: Never take photos or videos inside the Headless Lounge. This is a private space where performers should feel safe to be out of character.

  • Keep it Clean: Sweat is part of the job, but please be mindful of your gear. Keep your suit parts contained to your specific area.

  • Be Brief: Once you have cooled down and hydrated, please clear your spot for the next suiter coming in from the Midway.

The "Unplugged" Reality Check

Please remember: Bushkill Park is a historic 1902 venue. The Headless Lounge does NOT have air conditioning. It is a professional-grade tent designed to provide maximum shade and airflow. We recommend all suiters utilize cooling vests and internal fans in addition to the lounge's amenities.

Support the Lounge!

Want to help keep our "Heroes" hydrated? You can donate to the Headless Lounge Hydration Fund. Your contributions go directly toward purchasing bundles of Park Water Vouchers from the venue to be distributed for free inside the tent.
