The Midway Morning Mic: Decades Karaoke Contest! 

 

TIMING & LOGISTICS: DO NOT BE LATE!

This is an exclusive "Early Bird" event happening before the park's standard Saturday hours.

• Date: Saturday, September 12th

• Location: The Main Stage at the Grove (Plenty of seating available!)

• 10:30 AM — Doors & Sign-ups Open: Arrive at the main gate.

• 11:00 AM — Music Starts: The first singer takes the stage!

• 11:05 AM SHARP — Gate Closes: The front gate locks at 11:05 AM to allow our staff to run the show. It will NOT reopen until Noon.

 EXACT CASH AT THE GATE: We have a strict 35-minute window to get everyone inside.

We will NOT have change at the gate.

• To Watch: $7.00 Exact Cash

(If you do not bring exact change, the remainder of your cash goes straight into the park donation jar!)

 HOW TO ENTER & COMPETITION FORMAT

The 10-Singer Limit: Because live karaoke requires singing full-length songs, we are strictly capping this event at the FIRST 10 PEOPLE to sign up at the Main Stage. If you want to compete, you must be in line at 10:30 AM!

The Rules:

​

• The Decades Rule: You must choose a song released in the 1970s, 1980s, or 1990s. (No modern pop, no 50s doo-wop—stick to the decades!).

​

• Live Vocals Only: This is real karaoke! You will be singing live on a hot mic over an instrumental track.

​

• Family-Friendly: All song choices and stage behavior must be G-rated. Swearing or inappropriate lyrics will result in the soundboard being cut.

​

• Solo or Duet: You can sing by yourself or bring one friend up for a duet (both must pay the entry fee).

 

JUDGING & THE PRIZES

Our panel of community judges will be scoring you on:

 

Vocal Quality: Can you hit those high notes (or at least stay on key)?

​

Stage Presence: Are you engaging the audience in the bleachers?

​

Song Choice & Vibe: Does the crowd love your throwback choice?

​

The Awards: We are awarding our top four performers!

​

 1st Place: The "Golden Mic"  + Ride Tickets + Free Mom & Pop's Meal

 2nd Place: Custom Silver Medal + Ride Tickets

 3rd Place: Custom Bronze Medal + Ride Tickets

 Runner-Up (4th Place): Honorable Mention Certificate + Free Park Snack Voucher

IMPORTANT: EARLY BIRD GATE ENTRY & PAYMENT POLICY

​

Because we have a very short 35-minute window to get everyone through the front gate before the 11:05 AM lockout, we have a strict gate policy to keep the line moving quickly.

​

Please read carefully before you arrive:

​

1. EXACT CHANGE / CASH ONLY We will NOT have a cash box or register at the front gate for this early-bird event. All entry fees will be dropped directly into a sealed donation jar. No change will be given under any circumstances.

 

2. THE DONATION RULE (BRING EXACT BILLS!) If you do not bring exact change, the remaining cash will be considered a direct donation to the Bushkill Park restoration fund.

• Example 1: If you are paying the $10 competitor fee and hand the gate staff a $20 bill, you are paying your $10 entry and donating $10 to the park.

• Example 2: If you are paying the $7 spectator fee and hand the gate staff a $10 bill, you are paying your $7 entry and donating the remaining $3 to the park.

 

3. PRICING & ENTRY DETAILS

• Competitors ($10 Exact Cash): You will pay at the gate and receive a specific paper entry slip. 

• Spectators ($7 Exact Cash): Pay at the gate and head straight to the rink to claim a good viewing spot!
