Bushkill Beats: Skate Rink Showdown!
Represent the Fandom on the Floor!
Ready to show the Midway your moves? Bushkill Beats is an all-styles dance battle open to the general public and all FurFest guests. This is an incredible opportunity to bring high-energy entertainment to the historic skating rink, interact with the local community, and raise funds to save the park!

THE 11:05 AM LOCKOUT RULE: The front gate will be completely locked at 11:05 AM so our staff can run the event.

FURSUITERS ON THE RINK (RULES & SAFETY)
We want to see the fluff on the floor! However, safety and fairness are our top priorities.
1. The "Heat & Safety" Exemption: Fursuiting is hot, and battling is exhausting.
-
Rule: If you feel overheated or dizzy during a battle, you are permitted to "pop your head" (remove your fursuit head) immediately.
-
Explanation: You will NOT be penalized by the judges for breaking the magic/character for medical safety. Take the head off, hand it to your handler, and keep dancing (or step down if you need a break).
2. No Props Allowed: Per competition rules, only clothing, costumes, and fursuits worn on your person are allowed.
-
Example: If you have an 80's boombox prop that is part of your suit, you may NOT bring it onto the dance floor. If you have a tail, wings, or a jacket, you may use them creatively as part of your dance.
3. Vision Constraints (No Contact Rule): We know fursuit vision is limited. You must maintain spatial awareness.
-
Example: Battles require you to "respond" to your opponent. You can gesture at them, but if you accidentally bump into them or tackle them due to poor suit vision, you will be disqualified. Keep your distance!
HOW THE BATTLES WORK
1. The Showcase: You get 30-45 seconds of freestyle solo time to impress the 5 judges. The top performers are seeded into a bracket.
2. The Bracket Battles: 1-on-1 elimination rounds. You dance for 30 seconds, your opponent answers for 30 seconds.
3. Sudden Death: If the judges tie, the DJ drops one last beat, and both dancers go simultaneously. The winner is decided by Audience Noise Level.
Pro-Tip: Bring your handlers, friends, and fellow furs to the sidelines. When the MC asks the crowd who won, your crew needs to scream, clap, and stomp the loudest!
THE OFFICIAL PLAYLIST (THE DIRTY DOZEN + EXTRAS)

IMPORTANT: EARLY BIRD GATE ENTRY & PAYMENT POLICY
Because we have only a 35-minute window to get everyone through the front gate before the 11:05 AM lockout, we have a strict gate policy to keep the line moving quickly.
Please read carefully before you arrive:
1. EXACT CHANGE / CASH ONLY We will NOT have a cash box or register at the front gate for this early-bird event. All entry fees will be dropped directly into a sealed donation jar. No change will be given under any circumstances.
2. THE DONATION RULE (BRING EXACT BILLS!) If you do not bring exact change, the remaining cash will be considered a direct donation to the Bushkill Park restoration fund.
-
Example 1: If you are paying the $10 competitor fee and hand the gate staff a $20 bill, you are paying your $10 entry and donating $10 to the park.
-
Example 2: If you are paying the $7 spectator fee and hand the gate staff a $10 bill, you are paying your $7 entry and donating the remaining $3 to the park.
3. PRICING & ENTRY DETAILS
-
Competitors ($10 Exact Cash): You will pay at the gate and receive a specific paper entry slip.
-
Spectators ($7 Exact Cash): Pay at the gate and head straight to the rink to claim a good viewing spot!
Thank you for understanding!
This policy helps us get everyone inside before the music starts while maximizing every dollar raised for the park.
